Can you run more than one Shopee, Lazada or TikTok Shop store?

multi-store platform policy shopee lazada tiktok shop

TikTok Shop Singapore gives an exact number: “One verified business entity can only register up to five (5) seller accounts on TikTok Shop.” Shopee and Lazada are less tidy. Their answers depend on the market, sit on different pages, and in Lazada’s case are behind the seller login.

This page collects what each platform officially says, as of September 2026, with links to the pages so you can check them yourself. Rules change and differ by country. If your market isn’t covered below, or a page has changed since, the current seller policy for your market wins over anything written here.

One thing up front. This is about running legitimate stores inside the rules: a company with several brands, or an agency running stores that belong to its clients. If a platform says no, the answer is no, and nothing here will help you get around it.

Shopee

Shopee’s Singapore seller education hub says: “Each Shopee account can only be used to set up 1 shop.” So every store needs its own Shopee account. The same page warns that “creating similar listings to sell the same products across different shops is considered a violation of Shopee’s policies and can result in seller penalty points.”

The Malaysian and Philippine hubs answer the question directly. Both FAQs (Malaysia, Philippines) ask “Can I create multiple shops on Shopee?” and answer “Yes, but each shop can only be registered under 1 Shopee account.”

Then there are the terms. Shopee Singapore’s Terms of Service list “having multiple user accounts” among the grounds on which Shopee may suspend or terminate an account, at its discretion. Clause 6.2(j) separately prohibits opening or operating multiple user accounts “in connection with any conduct that violates either the letter or spirit of these Terms of Service”. Shopee’s Malaysian, Philippine, Thai, Vietnamese and Indonesian terms carry similar clauses.

Put together: Shopee allows more than one shop in some markets, one account per shop, but it keeps the discretion to act on multiple accounts. The Singapore hub doesn’t say how many shops one seller may run. If you are planning a second Singapore store, ask Shopee through seller support or your account manager first, and keep the answer in writing.

I couldn’t verify the current shop-count guidance for Indonesia, Thailand or Vietnam. Check your market’s seller education hub.

Two more rules matter for multi-brand operators. Shopee’s Singapore listing rules strictly prohibit “creating duplicate listings of an item under different seller IDs”, and if a seller does it, “Shopee will keep the oldest listing and delete the rest”. And for running several shops together, Shopee Singapore has a Sub-account Platform, where a main account “is the administrator that controls all member accounts” and you can “bind a shop to your main account”. That is the official way to see several shops from one place.

Lazada

This is the gap. Lazada publishes dedicated policies on exactly this question, but its seller help centre sits behind the Seller Center login, and I couldn’t read the text. What I could confirm is that the pages exist:

  • Singapore: “Guidelines on Multiple Stores for Lazada Marketplace Seller” (link)
  • Malaysia: “Multiple Seller Account Policy” (link)
  • Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam each have a seller account policy page in their own Seller Center help.

A dedicated multiple-stores page tells you Lazada has specific conditions. I won’t guess what they are from third-party summaries. Log in, read the version for your market, and do it before you register the next store, not after.

TikTok Shop

TikTok Shop is the clearest of the three, at least for companies.

For businesses, the Singapore seller registration guidelines say one verified business entity can register up to five seller accounts, and the Singapore FAQ “How many seller accounts can I have” says the same for a corporate entity. The Philippine, Thai, Vietnamese and Indonesian (TikTok Shop by Tokopedia) seller guides carry the same five-account limit. I couldn’t confirm the current Malaysian page.

For individuals, the Singapore registration guide says: “Each phone number or Email can only be used for one TikTok Shop account for an individual entity. If you wish to open a second shop, you will need to use different contact details.” It gives no number for individuals.

Two limits apply to everyone. The TikTok Shop Seller Terms of Service for Singapore prohibit “opening or using more accounts than reasonable (or permitted)” and “selling or transferring (or putting up for sale or facilitating the transfer of) Your Account to any third party”. And TikTok Shop’s Seller Enforcement Policy for Singapore defines associated accounts, meaning accounts it reasonably determines are connected to the same owners, and says that if they have violated its terms it may act against the seller and the associated accounts together.

For running several shops, TikTok’s Singapore Access Management guide lets owners add sub-accounts for staff and switch between shops registered under the same business licence.

A quick summary

Platform What the official pages say Markets checked
Shopee One shop per Shopee account. MY and PH FAQs say multiple shops are possible. ToS lists multiple accounts as a suspension ground. Duplicate listings across shops prohibited. SG, MY, PH hubs; ToS in all six
Lazada Dedicated multiple-store and seller account policies exist, behind the seller login Page titles only, SG and MY
TikTok Shop Up to five seller accounts per verified business entity. Individuals need separate contact details per shop. “More accounts than reasonable” prohibited SG, PH, TH, VN, ID

How legitimate multi-brand operators set it up

The pattern that holds up across all three platforms is simple.

Each store belongs to the business that actually owns it, verified in that business’s own name. If you are an agency, the brand registers and owns the store and you get staff or sub-account access. You don’t register stores in your own name on a client’s behalf.

Each store sells its own range. Shopee’s duplicate listing rule is explicit, and the same product listed across three of your shops is the fastest way to earn penalty points.

Use the official multi-shop tools: Shopee’s main and member accounts, TikTok’s sub-accounts and shop switching, and Lazada’s user management. They exist so you don’t need to share owner passwords.

Keep each store’s staff access, devices and records apart, so the right person works on the right store and every change can be traced. Our guide to running seller apps across multiple phones goes through that setup.

And never buy or sell a store. TikTok’s terms prohibit it outright, and Shopee’s Indonesian terms forbid transferring an account to a third party.

Common misconceptions

“Separate phones and IPs make stores independent.” They don’t. Platforms decide who owns what from registration details, verification and their own signals. TikTok’s associated accounts definition says as much. Separating devices is for security and fewer mistakes, not for hiding a connection.

“If Malaysia allows it, Singapore does too.” Shopee’s Malaysian FAQ says yes to multiple shops. The Singapore hub only says one shop per account and never answers the question directly. Check your own market.

“Five TikTok accounts means five shops per person.” The five-account figure is per verified business entity.

“A suspended store can be replaced with a new one.” If a store is suspended, use the platform’s appeal process. Opening a replacement to carry on is the situation multiple-account clauses exist for.

Where to go from here

Once the structure is right, the next questions are commercial. What each platform charges is in our seller fees comparison for Singapore, and a weekly pricing routine is in how to track competitor prices on Shopee and Lazada. Everything else is on the articles page.

All policy wording above was checked on the linked official pages in September 2026.
